How Ruby’s Roasts Coffee
We roast coffee on an old Probat roaster. It’s about as manual as you can get. We roast 20 lbs at a time. We prefer this small batch roasting because we specialize in blends. Ethiopian Harrar roasts differently than a Colombia Supremo. We pay attention to these differences. Our Colombian coffee may roast a minute longer than our Ethiopian. A minute is a big deal in coffee roasting! We are right there monitoring and timing the entire roast.
What’s in the Hopper today?
We love roasting our Colombia Mesa de Los Santos beans, grown on a plateau. This particular coffee adds a delightful smoothness to our Medium Roast blend.
